A wholly owned subsidiary of Ares Macrotechnoogy, Knight Errant is one of the largest security corporations in the world. The brain-child of the Ares CEO, Damien Knight, Knight Errant is one of its parent corporations’ most high profile ventures. The corporation often provides security for wealthy private clients, marketing itself as a provider of “top-class” services, but they also operate several city-wide contracts in destinations such as Manhattan, Moscow and London. Knight Errant recently made national news when they won the contract to provide security services for the Seattle Metroplex, replacing the incumbent Lone Star.

> And they are out to prove a point! There’s been some serious crackin’ down since these boys took over. I knew exactly how much to bribe all the local Lone Star boys too – it’s a cryin’ shame!

> The smart ‘runner can play the Knights’ desire to make a big splash to their advantage. The KE bigwigs are looking for publicity – high profile busts, locking up renowned long-standing ass-holes, stuff that makes the evening news. As long as whatever you’ve done is suitably low profile, or if you have a few hot leads you can throw their way, it is possible to convince some of the less “by-the-book” boys in black that you’re not worth the paper-work.

> Something else to mention – you can’t just march in and take over the security contract for a major metroplex like Seattle that easily. Knight Errant have been operating an aggressive recruitment policy to make sure they have enough bodies on the street and they’ve been rushing them through the training academy in Renton as quickly as they can. They’ve picked up a lot of the old Lone Star officers who suddenly found themselves redundant too, some of whom are none too happy about being made to complete basic training along with the rookies.

> Don’t forget, a lot of those Lone Star boys couldn’t or wouldn’t fit in with the Knights. They’ve found themselves unemployed with a very special skill set and nothin’ to do with it. From what I’ve heard, some of the old boys in blue are joinin’ the dark side and tryin’ out shadowrunning.

Knight Errant officers wear a distinctive black uniform and are provided with state of the art equipment by their parent corporation, sometimes taking part in live field trials for new arms and armours.

> They really do get SOTA hard-ware too. You could argue that Ares view Knight Errant almost as an advertising service for their weaponry and armour, among other things.
