> Hey chummers! Jack asked me to post a few links to some vids that might give you an idea of how the public views us shadowrunners and the tech that we use. Some of this stuff is pretty unrealistic, some of it’s downright funny, but regardless it’s useful to know what the unwashed masses think of our profession. If you know what the public expects from a runner, it’s easier to buck those expectations… or deliberately live up to them in some cases. Anyway, all the text below is mine. Feel free to comment.
> Steel Weevil

First up, here’s a link to the opening credits of that new trid show, Shadowrun. The show’s pretty flashy and over the top, but it’s good fun if you can ignore the ridiculousness. Man, I wish hacking was as easy as the guys on this show make it look!

> If we blew stuff up half as often as the guys on this show do, Downtown would be nothing but rubble.
> Street Prophet
> I want a smartlink like the one the main gun-bunny, Falcon, has – that guy can shoot round corners without lookin’!.
> Sam U. Rye

On the other end of the budget scale, I found this on YouTrid. Seems to be a home made homage to the same show. Loving the retro vibe, with the hacker jacking in.

> Can you imagine how long we’d last if we wore as little armour as these guys? We’d die of exposure if nothin’ else! Really wish I was as good at openin’ boxes as this guy too – it’s quite a skill.
> Sam U. Rye
> It vexes me greatly that people still think casting magic just involves “thinking really hard”. The exact details vary by tradition, obviously, but there’s normally a bit more effort involved.
> Man O’ Mana

A bit of Japanimation for you now. This is just the opening scene, but the whole film’s worth a watch. Don’t see many bounty hunters with such obvious cyberware these days.

> Man, I love me some manga. I just wish the Japs would get over the whole kawaru thing and put some damn trogs in the toons!
> KT Funtroll

Fun little art-film here with a twist in the tail. Who would’ve thought that cyber-eyes could be so creepy? Also, this guy spends way too much time playing AR games.

> I’m not so sure this was an “art-film” you know. The AR games look remarkably like some that come as standard with Horizon’s suite of cyber-eyes and the video went viral just before the corp launched the latest update to their Retinopathy range. Sales were much lower than anticipated too. Coincedence?
> The Suit

Another arty short; Russian this time. The rigger running this anthro-drone obviously missed his calling – he must be a great actor.

> I hate stuff with a MacGuffin that you never see. What the hell was the “unicorn” in the box, damn it!
> KT Funtroll
> I think you may be missing the point dear.
> Man O’ Mana

Next up, a funny little vid showing what life might look like if you turned off your comm-link spam filter.

> You Americans clearly need a recipe in order to make a proper cup of tea.
> Man O’ Mana

Pretty cool video here of what I think is a young archery adept in training. Seems to fancy herself as a runner. Pretty good at what she does.

> Gimme a semi-automatic any day of the week! She’s damn fast though, gotta give her that.
> Sam U. Rye

Teaser trailer for an upcoming show about a mage on the run: The Raven. Looks pretty cool, even if some of the special effects are a little shonky.

> Again with the “thinking hard” thing for magic use! What spells are those even meant to be anyway?
> Man O’ Mana
> Pull the stick out your ass Brit boy – not everything has to be 100% realistic.
> Street Prophet
> To use a vulgar American turn of phrase “screw you”! Whilst I’m being a pedant anyway, the way the boy in this trailer can jump, he must be a mystic adept.
> Man O’ Mana
